History

Persis Forster established Dance Theatre of Arlington in 1980 to encourage dancers and dance education in our city. It has grown from a small company with many civic performances to an organization that offers scholarships, master classes, public school outreach and unforgettable “elf shows” to area nursing home residents – who await the arrival of the elves each year with an anticipation only matched by young children eager for Christmas morning!

Our Community Service Pages will inform you about our projects, including the Teen Talent Follies and The “I AM!” outreach program.

Look for our newest endeavor, Dance!Texas, to bring more exciting Master Teachers and an unforgettable concert to the downtown Arlington Arts District in February 2015.

Our Artistic Directors and Board of Directors are working hard to continue the traditions established almost 35 years ago through the company performances, elf shows, Teen Talent Follies, “I Am!” and Dance!Texas.

We have terrific support from our sponsors, partners and individuals and invite you to join them as a member of the DTA Team! Check out our upcoming performances!
